I'm looking for work in Kansas. I have 17 years experience most of which as a party chief. I've spent some time in the office drafting ROS, ALTA, Topography Maps, writing Legals, Construction Calcs, etc. I also spent 2 years doing my own calcs, estimates, etc in a small office working field and office. We did all Boundary and Short Plat work.
I have my LSIT and am testing for my PS at the end of this month. I'm willing to travel, but I do own my home in Central Kansas. I might be willing to work out of state, but would want to come home every couple weeks to a month for a permanent position. I would consider working out of state a few weeks for temp work also.
I can send my resume upon request.

Solve the puzzle that Mr Cash posted directly below your post, and you may get a response. That seems to be just a typical day for many of us with, lets just say, 18 plus years of hard knocks in the decision making arena. Or would that be 35, 27, 53,.... and that isn't our ages.
However, it may be in all parties best interest to put some extra time into knowledge of grammer and proper spelling. Just sayin....

In one of your previous posts you mentioned you didn't like Ron Paul all that much due to the fact that he was against our military interventions. Well if you're unemployed why don't you look up the Navy Seabees. Most of these units are reserve status and use surveyors for their construction projects. I'm sure they could find you a location for a few months while you're unemployed.

I have been known to correct spelling errors myself, but that was pretty extreme. The best I can figure, the first poster left off a couple of words. Perhaps I am wrong, but I didn't catch any spelling errors.
Besides the misspelling of "grammar", I think "parties' best interest" needs an apostrophe as well. Just saying.... (Sometimes if you purposely leave off a letter you might throw in an apostrophe in the shortened word as well....as in just sayin'. It kind of shows that you did it on purpose for effect I think.
Okay....now it's probably my turn. I probably have a couple of typos (typographical errors) above.
Ok guys, please forgive my flippant remarks to our aspiring surveyor. It was late, following a long weekend, and I spent the whole night watching the Tigers win... and well, I shouldn't have even looked at my computer. My bad and I should know better.

I think at 43, the military isn't an option. I wasn't trying to start a political post, but I'll respond. I disagree with our troops being in the Middle East. Those people have been killing each other for 2000 years. Us being there won't help. However Ron Paul said Iran having nukes wasn't a threat. I disagree. You can't let evil have nuclear weapons. We do have some responsibility there. If Ron Paul was president during WWII, would we all be Natzi's now? His ignoring issues, and hoping they'll go away are too dangerous. I do think he has some great ideas domestically though. Still not getting my vote.
Don't worry about it in my opinion....just poking fun. As long as you can take it as well as dish it out. I know I have done the same thing.
I know I need to work on my grammar and spelling, and plan to take classes in the future. I think my skills at field surveying, calculations, drafting, research, etc., are valuable to someone out there. I just may not be the best guy to write proposals.

Not to belabor the point but...if I were 43 again and out of work I'd give them a go. I'm sure they could find you a 60 day, 90 day or 120 day detail somewhere (doesn't necessarily have to be Iraq or Afghan these guys operate worldwide). I don't think it would be a bad part time job.
