Set up a tripod and the nosey locals come out to see what??s going on....
Muleys??ÿ
I don't know about your neck of the woods, but around here the tracks are littered with wheat and corn kernels at times.?ÿ No doubt from some southbound grain car with a not-so-well-secured belly hatch.?ÿ A tree stand just outside the RW can be a fairly profitable perch from which to hunt whitetails down here...just don't let the track-Nazis in the white trucks see you...
This track is all but abandoned- it used to service the (now long gone) lumber mills further south-
1 mile south of this location the county tore out the crossing this fall when they were doing an overlay....
?ÿthese deer were holed up in the row of cottonwoods in the distance and came out when the rain stopped. they were feeding on the tall grass along the edges-?ÿ then they bedded down under a thornapple to the left just out of view- about 60 ft from my rig. all does- 1 spike buck.
?ÿ
I would rather be there than setup in the "hood" and have several residents approach at one time all with miscellaneous gold teeth and questionable bulges on their waists, demanding to know what you are taking pictures of.?ÿ?ÿ ??ÿ
They are pretty bold.?ÿ They wouldn't get that close around here.?ÿ Bubba done took too many pot shots at 'em.?ÿ
For some reason deer have no problem hanging out with me when I'm working in the field but if I had a rifle with me I can go days without seeing one.

That's Murphy's Second Law of Hunting:?ÿ Deer will always be somewhere where you are not when carrying a Hunting Tag and weapon.
Murphy's First Law of Hunting is, of course:?ÿ When you finally squeeze your trembling trigger finger at a deer chances are the safety will still be on.?ÿ ??ÿ
