Today if I click on "Watch on YouTube" and look for comments below the video, I don't find all of the ones that were there before, just a couple added today. Can the originator of the video delete comments or am I confused?

@bill93 Yes, I believe they can delete comments and/or turn off comments. Must have been upset. He got pretty defensive.

If I may speak on behalf of laypersons watching that video, I was gagging for him to sweep around that red dot, and reveal what (if anything) it is affixed to - to the layperson it looks like a neat blob of paint on dirt.

Trying to see this from the average property owner's perspective. It's rather confusing in that it throws into question the validity of what might be a long accepted corner that might not be math perfect but is the best evidence of where their common boundary is. To say it's 1.5" off because it might have been bumped throws the entire acceptance into question. I'm trying to recall when in the last 20 years I've found a corner that fits the description math perfectly and it must be like a unicorn. I can't say they don't exist, I've just never seen one. Perhaps it would be best if red dots were reserved for cat videos.?ÿ?ÿ

In previous comments, he said he knew a utility had disturbed the monument.?ÿ I wonder if he was just guessing that because it didn't fit the math perfectly.

The only way he could say with absolute certainty that it had been disturbed is if he had tied it before the utility came through and I find that somewhat doubtful and if he used RTK, there's a couple centimeters of uncertainty right there.?ÿ

What if I told you that all the corners I located in the subdivision checked within .03'.?ÿ That the house is 0.12' into the setback accepting that monument.?ÿ Holding the calls and the house is on the setback line.

Setback lines and a house not called for are not monuments.?ÿ Combined with the other evidence found they are strong indicators that the monument has been disturbed.

For the record. I would not be caught dead posting a YouTube video about surveying that targeted the public.

I wouldn't do one at all.?ÿ On any surveying topic.?ÿ Especially if it was aimed at the public.

@holy-cow a little knowledge in the hands of the public is often a disaster....
