As I stated earlier today, I am not and never have been a Trimble user.
However, I work with many folks who are...
Question:
Is there a way (option) to "make" the Data Collector (v10.7) use the IGS/NGS Antenna Calibrations (as opposed to the Trimble "nominal" values), when running RTK? This isn't a problem when using matched Base/Rover combinations, but IS a problem when using mixed antennas on the Base & Rover (more so for some combinations than others).
I have written my own software to process the Trimble .dc files that apply the IGS/NGS Absolute Calibration values, but that doesn't help my associate when he's in the field (real time). Lately he has been using matched antennas (base/rover), but there are times when he might "mix and match" in certain circumstances.
Thanks in advance,
Loyal
I'm not aware of a way to do that. The antenna info is stored in a file called Antenna.dat in the System Files folder on the collector, and that file contains some binary code. Someone with a better grasp of programming might be able to figure out how to edit it.
I'd be happy to submit an inquiry to Trimble Support. However, it should be noted that 10.7 is a VERY old version of SC; Access has long ago replaced SC but even then 10.7 was old; I think the last SC version was 12.51.
The antenna.ini file in TBC could be modified. If there is a way of downloading that to the data collector as a Antenna.dat file then it might could be done. Not sure if that is possible. From what I am seeing in my testing, many if not all of the versions of the R8/SPS881 are wrong in the trimble file.

You have probably forgotten more TrimStuff than I will ever know, but if you look at any of the later (maybe starting when they went to Windows Mobile with the TSCe??) DC files from Survey Controller with "DC File Editor" the Header (first) line sez "Version nbr SC V10-70". Or, just open the DC file with a text editor, you will see the "SC V10-70" in the first line as well. That was always sort of hard to explain to users.
Today I am looking at a DC file from Survey Controller Ver 12.46 and am pretty certain that "SC V10-70" information persisted clear through the last version of Survey Controller.
That is probably what Loyal is seeing and reporting.

Please check to see if you have an antenna.ini file in the "c:Program Files (x86)Common FilesTrimbleConfig" directory on your computer. Edit and copy it into the "DiskTrimble Data" directory on the controller. I don't know if this actually works or not. See the attached quote from the Survey Controller documentation:

You're right, thank you, 10.7 is the last DC file version.
