Hi, the bluetooth option sounds fantastic. I have always thought the downside of the 5600s is the external radio and added weight. Is there any chance you could go into more detail in what's involved with swapping to bluetooth adaptors? I'm a surveyor and not an electrical engineer! Much thanks.

Ebay is great!! just bought 2 parani 1000sd for £40 buy now!! 🙂

does anyone run survCE on their DC with the paranis??

Looks like I am going to have to make up a DB9 y cable with a USB to link the parani to the DC
so I can power the adaptor via power out..

Could do with a pinout drawing for this if anyone can help??

Hirose pin 1 is Tx, Pin 2 is Rx. That applies at any instrument or DC.

RS 232 signals are designed to tollerate a sustained short so if you have to use trial and error you should be OK.

The Tx and Rx lines cross in any cable or battery to make the proper connections.

Seems to me that a 900 Mhx FHSS radio pair would work better that Bluetooth. Can anyone recommend a brand?

I'm curious about SurvCE with the 5603. We run Leica, Sokkia and a Spectra Focus30 on SurvCE and our one 5603 with SurvPro on a TSC2. The SurvCE will operate the Trimble but on version 5 it doesn't allow the prism constant to be changed and our unit has no face plates so it's only used with SurveyPro.

We never had much luck with SurvCE to a 5600, but, I was fairly quick to return MicroSurvey as it ran it fairly well.?ÿ SurvCE ran the instrument at a glacial pace from my memory, but, I didn't dig in and really try super hard to figure it out.?ÿ The wiring and other stuff to back up my cartoon that was re-posted above was posted here
