"My new Topcon GM50 is not talking to my new Carlson RT3 (Carlson's problem)."
Asking for a friend. That's all the information I have. Does anyone have any suggestions or things to try?
That is an extremely new instrument. Carlson may not have drivers for it. Topcon instruments are made by Sokkia. He may try using a Sokkia SET configuration in Carlson. Or try using Topcon Magnet field v 5.1 on his tablet PC.
Bluetooth was optional. If its a bt model try using 1111 as the pin code.
if he is trying a cable most Topcon conventionals would be 1200/even/none
?ÿ
My suggestion would be to exit from all software applications (e.g. Carlson SurvPC, etc) and make sure the BlueTooth stack is enabled at the Windows level and attempt to form a BlueTooth bond/pair at the Windows level per the?ÿTopcon GM50 guidelines. If (after this procedure) communications cannot be formed, my next suggestion would be to contact the Carlson Technical Support Staff at 606-564-5028 or via email at support@carlsonsw.com for further diagnostic information.?ÿ
The operating system in the GM-50 should work with the GTS Series (non-motorized) driver.
Though not identical, the operating system on the GM series instruments, as well as the ES-60C series is designed to mimic the GTS OS.
I have GM on my desk connected to SurvPC on my laptop.
Or probably should used the GPT-Series (non-motorized) for the reflectorless capability.
What it data collector doing that causes the problem??ÿ We are using a Topcon GM-102 with an FC-5000 running Carlson SurvPC 6.0 using the GM(TopBasic) diver.?ÿ Our issue has been that the instrument will take anywhere between 10 sec to 5 minutes to get the measurement.?ÿ Sent both the data collector and instrument to the dealer and they said that the operating system on the data collector needed to be updated.?ÿ They did that and tested both the instrument and DC and it worked fine for the first few days.?ÿ Now it is back to the same issue of taking too long to get the shot.
