anyone have any suggestions for a TopCon DC that??s not the large FC 5000? We do a lot of large tract surveys, heavy woods and swamps. That size DC is not for us. Anyone using anything smaller? Complaints??ÿ
If I'm not mistaken, the FC 5000 appears to be the re-configured Archer2 built by Juniper. I use the Carlson model (Mini2) and am happy with it. A bigger keypad would be nice, but that would increase the size. All their products are military grade and fairly bullet proof so I would think ruggedness and waterproofing are bigger concerns when mucking about the underbrush and swamps.
I'm not sure what would be smaller without resorting to a smart phone.
@beartow the 5000 is the size of an iPad. Too big for us. Ranger three with Survey pro will no longer run Topcon units. So we’re kind of having to go to a Topcon DC.
Ranger3L can run the Topcon software.
Yeah, you're right. I confused the FC5000 with the FC500. Going blind I fear...
