Finally,?ÿI have found a solution to the problems I have with TSC7 weight and balance.

The type of clamp in the first photo lets you mount the controller up hard against the pole (even with a radio attached). It balances much better, with less tendancy to pull the setup over.

And it is strong enough to make a good hook when you throw it over your shoulder.

For me it is a big improvement to the usability of that Rubber-coated Sledgehammer (almost enough to make me like it)

@mightymoe

On the usual clamp on the pole.

I should have spun it round before snapping the pic I guess.

I'm curious

how the hell were you clamping it before that clamp?

?ÿ

that's the only one I've ever known or used.

?ÿ

genuinely curious.

The other one I've been using looks more like the one for a TSC3.

Somehow the geometry of that one does not allow the bracket to run back across the pole, so the controller always ends up hanging a long way from the pole as the end of a long lever arm.

@jimcox?ÿ

understood.?ÿ the fitting fits from the previous generation, the only one Ive ever seen and used is the articulated clamp you're showing.?ÿ

I can see how using the prior clamp would really make the suck factor of weird cantilevered craziness not fun or productive.

glad you got the 'right' clamp

A coworker has a clamp sorta like that for his TSC7 but he rotates it 90 counterclockwise from the position in your photo so it's in line with the rod.?ÿ This actually makes the whole contraption 10 times more stable compared to having that 5 pound brick hanging off one side.
