When preparing a ROS, are there any standard steps that you take after collecting maps, etc. in order to make sure all goes as planned (as best as possible?) I have been working with my manager on a bit of a template with good practices.

Not sure what you mean. Are talking about preparing a field packet for your crew?

1. RESEARCH

-Collect Deed & All Neighbor Deeds

-Collect All Available Public Record Maps

-Collect Title Report from Client

-Collect Documents referenced in your deeds

-Analyze property for potential Certificate of Compliance - Inform client if this is possible

2. FIELD PREP

-Create Calcs

-Create Survey Plan

-Inform Field Crew

3. FIELD WORK (Data Collection)

-Start Field Work

-Analyze Data received and adjust calls if necessary

4. CAD

-Prep RS with findings and make boundary determinations

5. FIELD WORK (Staking)

-Set Monuments marking your boundary determination

6. CAD

-Check Monument positions and finish drafting to suit your county preferences

7. REVIEW

-InHouse Review with as many parties as possible

-County Review and Redline Response

Some order in the field/cad stages can get mixed up and none of my jobs hit this perfect timeline and whatnot, but I like to dream.

I would also make sure to walk lines marked with client and discuss the findings of your survey, along with potential solutions for any potential encroachments or other areas where ownership doesn't match well with title.

@PlumbBob No problem. I really want to see more surveyors realize the future of our industry is not competitive but cooperative. There aren't going to be enough surveyors to compete. Let's share our ideas and try to make up for mentorship that many survey firms failed to provide!
