It’s been over 30 years ago, but if I remember correctly the 4000 I had developed a problem with not being able to level the bubbles not long after I bought it new. Geodimeter fixed it, and the story I got was that there was some type of acid used in the manufacturing process that caused corrosion that was messing with the bubbles.

Fascinating! Well, if it does it again I think I know how to get to the level compensator and I'll take it out/apart and investigate!

I'm trying to get my Geodimeter 4400 to track an RMT but I can't find anything about auto lock in any of the menus.. I could be looking in all the wrong places.
If anybody knows what key sequence gets to that feature I'd be most grateful to know!
