this one sure is starting off well.?ÿ first, the (wet) cooler weather of the past couple weeks has been more than welcome.

but i think, due to our usual several months of atacaman climate, that realtors and title people forget we are somewhat constrained by weather conditions.?ÿ escrow lady is losing her mind this morning because i told her i wouldn't have a title to her by noon tomorrow.

"YOU SAID 10 BUSINESS DAYS!"

well, in the first place, my standard turnaround statement includes (and always has) "barring any weather conditions that prevent field work from being completed as presently scheduled."?ÿ in the second place, i said 10 days as a favor to a good customer, when everyone else in town (myself included) is at around 30 days.

maybe i should tell her she can trade places with the client who has a job that's a 7 hour drive from here, the one i'm having to back off a week due to all this lovely rain...

I quit doing "favors".

They never remember that I am busting ass to do something unusual and difficult.
at this point it is best to just not respond to the rants, it is Their Problem, not yours

@aliquot

As a PNW lifer who spent some time in that part of the continent, I wouldn't work in that rain either. It comes in a downpour, with lightning and swirling, gusty wind. Forget it.

@aliquoti i actually did end up going out and getting drenched in the woods for a bit yesterday.

rain here is often a good excuse to take a day off.?ÿ there are few other climactic barriers to working 365 days a year, and when a week of steady rain comes after a couple months of almost none... well, you kinda want to wait for all the accumulated detritus to get swept away.

They always forget that we are talking about that we are talking aobut "working days".

Not every day is a "working day", certainly not to anyone that is a banker, realtor or public servant.

Surveyors deserve no less than that.

Our first cool day of the end of summer was Saturday as the temperature did not quite reach 80?øF with a strong breeze all day long.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday apparently are a pleasant rainout. It has done everything from a light mist to a surely blown thunderstorm at my house with Beta about to make landfall it has been blustering on and off all day.
