I have my trusty HP48GX that has the dreaded screen won't come on issue. I've searched the HP Calculator Museum online, and I have tried the trick of pressing just above the "B" softkey, and the screen will flash a little bit, so I know the calculator is trying to work.
Does anyone know of a repair place for these calculators? I know I could purchase another used one, but I also have (2) HP48SX units for my two program cards. This is the first surveying calculator I purchased after I got into surveying, and it holds a lot of sentimental value. I passed three tests with it before they were banned from the exams.
I don't think Fixthatcalc is in business anymore.
Any advice or suggestions is appreciated.
Thanks,
Jimmy

(I got that from the californiasureyors.org website)
My black screen HP48GX went wacky on a job in June.
Unit would not turn on
I had to remove the rubber feet on back of the calculator and use paper clips to reset the HP48GX.
Not sure what action worked, I tried them all
touched both at same time
touched left one
touched right one
did the actions above while pressing the on button
Check your HP48GX manual for the actual reset action
Thanks guys, I'll try both suggestions.
