I'm a young construction surveyor who is just starting to acquire my own instruments. I've always liked the Trimble S6 and bought a used one recently. It has Autolock but no robotic. I have a Nomad with Spectra Survey Pro 12.5 and SurvCe loaded, I'm very comfortable using these apps and would love to continue doing so.
My issue is connecting the two. How do I connect the gun to the nomad, via cable or bluetooth. (the Trimble CU faceplate I got on the gun has BT)
Has anyone done this sucessfully?

The S6 itself should have bluetooth also, the bluetooth on the CU may only be to transfer files from CU to somewhere else.

I think you have to go into the settings menu on the S6 itself, available during startup and try some settings there. check the (online) manuals and try to keep the firmware of the S6 uptodate.

Not sure if it will find non-Trimble bluetooth sensors.?ÿ

Let us know how this goes!

It's not the best solution, but I once used a DiNi digital level transfer cable to connect an S6 to a TSC3 data collector when the bluetooth module in the TSC3 went out. I believe it was a six-pin to USB A. If I remember correctly the Nomad has a USB A slot.

I too was under the impression that all S6's had bluetooth, but I have not been able to find any sign that mine does.
There is no setting menu for it on the little screen.
