How in the HELL do I get the drawing to remember what freaking coordinate file is associated with it? I never had this problem in 2008, and tech support, while they were great about the few text issues I found, never replied to me about how to keep the coordinate file handy.

Also, near as I can tell, there won't be any patches so I'll have to suffer through this BS of setting the coordinate file every time, until 2013 comes out.

is it creating an ini file? that's what connects the dwg to the crd.

Since I've only ever used Carlson in it's 2012 version I thought that was just how Carlson was. It is a nuisance. FWIW, I think your wait for 2013 is about over. It's either already available, or about to be within days.

Sure does, and it still loses it. I have many drawings tied to only one CRD file and I cannot keep it attached when I close and then reopen. It takes 2 seconds, but I never had this problem before.

I am on the 2010 version and it is simply a matter of SOP to set ther crd file whenever you open a drawing. I have used Carlson Survey since 2007 and have never seen it open a drawing with the crd file preset or reset to the last used crd file.

I have been using Carlson on top of AutoCad since '02, and the crd file is ALWAYS attached when I open an existing drawing. I personally have Carlson 2011 with intellicad, and I have never had a problem with it either.

Is this a problem specific to Carlson with standalone ACAD?

I am not seeing that problem in the autocad 2012 version . My coordinate file shows up everytime . I do have my data directory set to the drawing directory in carlson settings, if that does anything .

I am never asked to find the crd file unless I move drawings around .

I have this problem quite often, Dennis. I don't what causes it. It does seem to happen more when I have multiple drawings open.

Like someone else said. It's just SOP to make sure you are linked to the right crd file. I do notice more problems when there are multiple drawings open, FWIW.

I've had this problem too. No rhyme or reason that I can tell. Like you, I wish I knew how to keep the two attached to each other permanently.

Carlson Survey 2012 Intellicad

Intellicad doesn't have that issue.

Not sure why Autocadd does.

Carlson Survey 2012 Intellicad

Same thing happened to me on a reinstall. I or it somehow created a subfolder under and with the same name as my original (projects folder). It is a pathway problem, it is searching for the crd. file in the new subfolder which is empty. Lon at Carlson helped me with it.
