Firstly. No I did not hit angle only. I tried this three times including backing out of hte app and restarting stakeout mode.
?ÿ
This is not the first time this has happened and I am not sure what the cause is , something I am doing wrong of course.
?ÿ
Control point was nudged, so last week it was relocated with a set collection. Coworker did the locating.?ÿ
?ÿ
This week I setup on on the new point and backsight whence we came, and it set 0 but did not take a distance measurement.
?ÿ
Tried three times as stated above. Finally staked out backsight, checked.?ÿ
Checked into second point, that checked.?ÿ
?ÿ
Continued on our day.
?ÿ
In the past when this has happened I have generally backsighted the point and then just relocate it as a new point and backsight that to record the deltas. Not ideal.
?ÿ
Has anyone come across this before? Carlson Tech support does not know (assumes Angle only)
?ÿ
thanks

Does the backsight coordinates have coordinates entered beforehand?
What total station, Leica?
Is your problem backsite shot the first one after powering up?
Mine sometimes does that. If I change some setting like EDM speed or prism type in the Carlson settings window, then communication of that data to the total station clears it up.

Yes it was set located.

Its a geomax CR2+, made by leica. And the previous times I have had issues it was with Leica TS12
Sounds like a workaround. I will give that a try next time. Thanks. Surprised the people I have talked to have NOT seen this issue (or maybe just do not remember it).
I have always been under the impression that Carlson and Leica did not communicate well together. I had assumed it was just my equipment, but this week was completely different equipment.
Thanks Again.
