Has anyone on here done business with Hasudungan Surveying (based in Malaysia, but state that they ship from Singapore)? ?ÿTheir prices on used Total Stations seem lower than some I have seen but shipping and duties might bite into the savings.

From what I have heard, you will get what you have paid for if you get anything at all.

I just did a quick google search and came up with this;

Re: Online fraud Indonesia

I am Mr. Vinh Tran from Kinh Bac Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company in Hanoi city, Vietnam.
I am writing this letter to report about a case of scam from one of the companies in Indonesia.

That company is Hasudungan Surveying,
Address : Jln FZ 7-P5/KS12, Kampung Perigi Nenas, 42920 Pulau Indah, Selangor, Malaysia
Phone : 603 3176 7791
EMAIL : sales@hasudungansurveying.com
EMAIL : hasudungansurveying@gmail.com
Website: Company - Hasudungan Surveying
Bank Name: Bank Central Asia
Bank Address: Menara BCA, Jl. M.H. Thamrin No.1 - 10310, Jakarta, Indonesia
Account Number: 0663026124
SWIFT: CENAIDJA
The person in contact with me is Agus

This company works in service, rental, and sale of all surveying equipment and measuring instruments
On the 4th of May, 2016, I sent an email to this company to buy a laser receiver, brand Trimble Mast EM400. He offered an used item with the price USD 1,250.00, CIP Hanoi and issued a Proforma Invoice to my company.

On the 6th of May, 2016, I transferred the payment via our bank, Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) by telegraphic transfer.

On the 12th of May, 2016, Mr. Agus confirmed that the payment was in his companyƒ??s bank account and would prepare the shipment.

Up to now, nothing has happened. I have tried to call and send email to that company many times but it does not work.

Certainly sounds bad. ?ÿToo bad the buyer did not use AMEX or similar (there was an insinuation on the site that buyers could ask to make payment by other means). ?ÿThey are rabid dogs with sellers like that, making sure no cardholder gets scammed. ?ÿI cannot imagine making a bank xfr to another country like. ?ÿThanks for doing the research. ?ÿCase closed.

We use all Leica equipment, bought directly through Leica.?ÿ When we started talking about putting together another crew, having absolutely no clue about field equipment, my CEO went price shopping online and came up with a company in the USA who was wholesaling new equipment.?ÿ He ended up with what he thought a great deal and bought a gun and DC from them, thankfully using his AMEX.

When the new gun and DC came, we set it up and sent it out to the field to try it.?ÿ Everything done that day was wrong, terribly wrong, and there was no consistency to the errors it was producing.?ÿ Time to try the non-existent tech support.?ÿ Nobody we were able to talk to knew anything about the equipment at all.

We spent two months trying to get the equipment to work before contesting the purchase through AMEX and getting our money back, that was well over two years ago and the seller never asked for it back after the refund was issued.?ÿ The gun ended up being tossed in a dumpster and the DC was sold on eBay.?ÿ

Moral of the story, Caveat Emptor!

Personally, I'd shy away from dealing with any offshore dealer. If I did wish to risk it I would first see how they performed on something less substantial. That goes for in-country outfits as well. At this point I have bought enough bits and pieces from APE to have confidence that they are legit, for example.?ÿ

Wouldn't even send a dime to this company. It's crap, you can see it from their website.

Why wanna save a few pennies to gain a lot of headaches afterwards.

STAY AWAY!!! I got burned?ÿ buying from a site like the one you described. It was a pain trying to explain PAYPAL?ÿ about the fraud. They actually didn't help much, so I had to escalate to American Express, the card on my PayPal account. Everything went well with Amex and I got my money back in couple of months.

Thanks to all for chiming in. ?ÿWhen I wrote to Hasudungan asking to use Amex, this it the response I received today:

"Sorry, my bank cannot accept payments via American Express or other credit cards, because my bank does not have an authority link with American Express.
if you are serious about buying you can make a 50% upfront payment using Telegraphic Transfer and the rest of the payment after your order has been shipped.
If you agree, please provide your order details."

Uh huh! RIGHT!!!

I am from Singapore and Malaysia and there do have black sheeps with fake websites, but generally if the prices are too good too be true...?ÿ

In general here, prices are sensitive here and dealers do not list their prices out on their website until you enquire with them and prices are higher and brands such as trimble and leica for examples are price controlled, they can't be cheaper than other countries.?ÿ

In fact some surveyors from other countries do randomly drop me an email sometimes to check if a certain dealer is legit and I do reply them. Happy to help a fellow surveyor out.?ÿ?ÿ

I bought a gas powered jackhammer from an outfit in China for $235 including shipping. I did use Paypal. It took 6 weeks to get delivered. Shipped on a slow boat I guess. Works great, sure beats the heck out of a digging bar. Even has a bit to drive pins, an asphalt cutting bit, a bull penis, and a cute little gas can.

Bought another one and donated it to the Surveyor's Conference for the Scholarship Auction. It sold for $1500.

?ÿ
