Does anybody know the meaning of Brolien?
I believe that says "broken hills..."?ÿ A hill here, a hill there.
Or when you owe a debt to your homie, and he decides to take action.
?ÿ
Sorry.
It's a Name. Simply a name.
It's "broken" for sure.?ÿ Enlarge and/or use a magnifying glass to see the "k".
Agree that it's Broken Hills and Mountains
Licensed Land Surveyor
Finger Lakes Region, Upstate New York
It makes sense to have been broken in the field notes, but the drawing says brolien. I cannot see a k there.
What looks the the dot of an ??i? is actually the end of the upper arm of the ??k?. See this screen shot of a zoomed-in view. The connection of the seeming dot to the ??k? is visible. It??s a weird typeface.
That looks like it was initially misspelled when it was typed, someone caught the mistake and "fixed" it by drawing in the remainder of the K.
?ÿ
Look at the river to the south?ÿ "xxxxx Fork of Elk xxxxx"
It's Broken
That is Rolling Hills after a 12 pack.
Life with scanners ?????ÿ
?ÿ
Have had to use the imagination many times over the decades to decipher words.?ÿ Sometimes no matter what you finally decide, you are incorrect according to someone else.
Purchased a book one time listing the recorded marriages in a specific county between county formation and 1915.?ÿ I could not find my ancestors who I was certain were married in that county during that time frame.?ÿ Went to the secondary listing which listed the brides but only provided the page on which they appeared, not the name of the groom.?ÿ Found the female ancestor, went to the page where she appeared to be listed.?ÿ There they were, with the groom's surname spelled with an "L" instead of a "C".?ÿ Just one more thing to keep in mind when researching genealogy.
Newcomers to SurveyorConnect should be asked, as a challenge: ??In which SPC zone do the Brolien Mountains lie??
