I bought a used?ÿTrimble S6 with a Ranger and Trimble Access (? 2013 version).?ÿ I have used Survey Pro for 25 years.?ÿ The transition has not been perfectly smooth.?ÿ I use the Trimble ASCII file generator to convert my Trimble *.job files to either a *.Rw5 file or a *.fbk file.?ÿ Neither one of these shows the prism or prism constant being used.?ÿ When Survey Pro creates a *.RAW file the prism and prism constant information is shown.?ÿ Is there any way for me to get the prism information from a Trimble Access *.job file.?ÿ I want to be able to look at my raw data and make sure the correct prism and prism constant was used.

?ÿ

Thanks

If you open a dc file with a simple text reader can see where your prism constant, as a stated offset, doesn't appear.

What you end up with are raw measurements, distance also, followed by a string of corrections that you're currently set up for.

If I don't have TBC or Access handy to review the prism changes, I use the JXL (JobXML) format, since it is the same format as any other XML file. Export to JobXML in the "Import/Export" screen, choose "Fixed Format" and select JobXML.

Open with Notepad or an internet browser. Search for the <PrismConstant>?ÿrecords; they will be found whenever a station setup is performed, as well as when the constant is changed manually/on the fly.

In Access on a TSC3 you can press CTRL and R to review the job

This puts you in a list of all the data in the order it was stored (note you start at the end of the list)

You can examine the details for any observation, and it includes the target (prism) and target height used.

Some details can be edited

I would advice the free Sublime text editor, gives you very readable colored xml textfile.

Jxl has 2 sections: Fieldbook and Reductions.

@christ-lambrecht

That is a really nice editor, thanks for the tip! The color-coding makes it super readable.

Just need to talk to the IT group tomorrow morning so I can get permission to install.... ?????ÿ
