Hi all,
?ÿ
I've been using Terramodel 10.61 for approximately 8 years with my current employer?ÿ
?ÿ
I recently purchased Terramodel 10.60 from Ebay for personal use.?ÿ
?ÿ
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to copy points into the DTM layer? What command or icon do you use? I can't work it out. I would usually type "GCCOPY" in to the command bar in 10.61, but that doesn't work in 10.60.?ÿ
?ÿ
Also, does anyone know how to make layers or points non contourable? Similar to Terramodel 10.61, I type "GC53" into the command bar. Unfortunately, that also doesn't work in 10.60.
?ÿ
Any help would greatly appreciated. :)?ÿ

To copy points to a layer, change the current layer to the one you want to copy to, then it's edit/copy/select the points, and hit enter.?ÿ Thats going to add those points, but they will have new point numbers.?ÿ If you want to keep them as is, use modify/relayer instead.
Until last year I had been using Terramodel for my work since 1989. I would do the contouring by creating a Multilayer DTM utilizing just the layers with viable elevation for contouring. When encountering a bad shot or two you can "edit point" and unselect the radio button "include point in DTM"
Any of you TM users ever drop a .pro into Trimble Business Center in order to export it as a .dxf to open in C3D? Long story short, we are getting an old TM drawing from a defunct business but don't have a copy of TM to export it as a .dxf for C3D. I was reading that you can run it through TBC. Thanks!
Terramodel....wow. That is sad.
@stlsurveyor oh man come on. TM was a great software. I did all sorts of stuff with it. I would rather use it than civil3d any day. It had geodetic capabilities that civil3d still doesn’t. Had to prove that to an agency once lol. It was great in the 90’s for making subdivisions out of a parcel. Back when surveyors did more of that. But I reckon it has gone now. I never understood why they didn’t keep it going and such. Had a awesome field to finish package. Easy to set up easy to edit if a mistake was made. Break lines had several options from soft sharp dead hard etc. that coupled with the right crew could really turn a topo delivery very quickly. It was a love hate relationship though. Lol.
@stlsurveyor yeah yeah. I do like TBC much more than civil3d for sure. The more i use it the more i ask why do we have to use civil3d. I am slow and dumb as a rock in civil3d. But i had a few hundred feet of mapping along a road and a few items the client decided he wanted. So i sent the crew out to locate. My boss and i gia teams wanted to check a discrepancy in a few areas. I had tbc up all raw data and brought the cad civil3d file in. After he could say who shot that and i could bring up the file time of day etc all traceability he was like that is awesome. Then he said if tbc could only drFt. I said watch. I drafted old school style in tbc with no problems at all. He said text i did. No issues at all. Now he is re thinking all the civil3d. I am sure civil3d is better at a lot but for every day surveying task I find it hard to believe. If i were running solo and i had Trimble equipment i would not use anything else but tbc.
@jflamm you can download Business center and import the terramodel file and export without any modules. There is limited commands availabe without buying it.
@stlsurveyor Ha! You briefly worked for the company. In between my two stops there anyway. Well, I guess technically it had a different name the second time around. It's former that I'm after.
