I've decided to purchase SiteTopo next month for point import and dtm/contour processing. I used it some time ago when it was free, and even at the current $49 price it is the best value for basic import/DTM features. Since I'm not surveying to make money, I have to keep the expenses low. But even at the low price, SiteTopo is a robust program. It can take a few extra steps with dxf file transfers and mods in a drafting program for break lines and such (from what I remember), but I remember it being very slick and intuitive. This was back when AutoDesk was introducing a million steps in Civil to create surfaces.
