I am having some continuity issues when trying to setup our mmGPS system with my Magnet Field software. To give you some background information, we have set up a single LZ-T5 laser on a known control point, calibrated it, and tested it using Pocket3d, checking in perfectly on several control points. However, when I attempt to set this up in Magnet Field I consistently shoot .08 low on control points. I assured all my control information was constant, the slant/mark measurement on the laser is the same, and the control point it is set up on is correctly entered in magnet. I can tell i'm overlooking a simple setting somewhere that would affect the height of either the laser or the instrument, but I can't seem to pinpoint where that setting is.?ÿ
I have ensured the height of the laser, height of the antenna with mmGPS receiver, and the control point the laser is currently on are all correct and match what I used in Pocket3d. To further this, when I point the receiver away from the laser while setup on a control point, my elevation is perfect, which, as previously mentioned, is what is leading me to believe there is a simple setting that affects the height.?ÿ

Thanks for the help
Are you using the same mmGPS control file (*.gc) exported from Pocket3d, then imported into Magnet?
What version of Magnet Field?
What model GNSS receiver/antenna?
Have you checked the latest firmware? Have you contacted your dealer?
Are you using the same rod and mmGPS with both software?
@leegreen yes. It is the exact same .gc3 file exported from Pocket3d AFTER I had set it up in Pocket3d and calibrated the laser. However, I notice when I imported that .gc3 file into magnet, it did not include the transmitter data like it does when you import into Pocket3d. I had to connect to the laser via Magnet and “Get Data”.
I am using the most recent version of Magnet Field, I believe 7.3? With a GR-5 Base/Rover. The same rod is used for both applications, same height, same everything. I have contacted my local dealer/support rep but I typically come to this forum in the interim as you are usually very helpful.
Given that I am getting the correct elevation when using only GPS, I know it’s a setting within the mmGPS setup, I just don’t know where or what exactly. There aren’t too many people I’ve come across who know a lot about using mmGPS with magnet
Are you using the quick connect adapter on the bottom of the GR5?
Have you tried the mm setup with Magnet, then send it to Pocket3D?
No quick connect on the GR5. Just a 2m pole, mm receiver, and the GR5 screwed directly onto that. Zero difference in setup. I have not tried the sending the mm setup to Pocket3D from Magnet.
