My Leica Captivate v6.50 was recently formatted as its' internal memory was totally full. Now I am having problems with the geoid model import. I was given the .txt file. I know the path from Settings - Tools - Transfer user objects - Geoid field file - it should be. The captivate doesn't show the txt file in the USB. I found also from the internet that geoid file should be with .gem ending, but I was told that .txt can be imported as well. Anyone knows if that is correct information and where the import from USB to Internal Memory can be done?

?ÿ

Many thanks advance!

I use Leica, but not Captiva. The Geoid file should be a zip file with a bunch of different types of binary(bin), document(doc) and executable(exe) files. You should be able to get it from the Leica web page or google search. I suspect you can load it from the Coordinate/Geoid area by "select a new geoid'.?ÿ Some one that has knowledge of Captivate might read your post later and be more specific. Good Luck.?ÿ

What state/country, and model geoid do you need. I can send you a link.

Based on everything I've just read, the geoid you are trying to load should have a .GEM file extension.

GA123,

Captivate, and for that matter SmartWorks and Viva, utilize the GEM file format for Geoid models.?ÿ I just downloaded a copy of the GEM covering Estonia and email it to you.?ÿ Or, if you have a current copy of Infinity you can download it through the localization tab in 'Tools'.
