Tired of typing xls spreadsheet into Carlson manually to process bench runs from field crew.?ÿ Bought a leica pinned rs232 cable to download the gsi to my window 7 computer.?ÿ But cannot figure how to get windows to "see" sprinter.?ÿ It sees my usb to serial port as com8, but no idea how to get windows to recognize the HD in the digilevel as being attached.

?ÿ

Can anyone help?

?ÿ

Tried hooking up digilev to carlson 5.xx collector, but apparently it does not communicate with leica dna.?ÿ Or my com port is incorrectly configured??ÿ Or the new cable does not work??ÿ Or the port on digilevel is bad?...or ....

To connect a Leica device to a computer you have to download the drivers manually?ÿfrom Leica My world. Leica does not release their drivers, so you have to get them. While you are there on My World, download the manuals?ÿfor the device and follow their step by step instructions for connecting to a computer using the cable. You can also use a blue tooth connection?ÿas well to download directly to your computer.

I am assuming a lot here because I do not have this exact piece of equipment. This has been my experience with their GPS Equipment.?ÿ

Jawja,

Here is crazy idea. Have you tried reading the Sprinter Manual?

A quick search on the web gave me the PDF file of the Sprinter manual. Then I searched the word "Download" and found this

SPRINTER DOWNLOAD

Yes, I have tried reading the manual, smart ***.?ÿ Those directions are for transferring with the piece of crap telephone to usb cord.?ÿ Look at the little hand there: it says to get RS232 transfer instructions to look at the cd-rom.?ÿ But since we do not have the cd-rom, that suggestion is of no use.?ÿ?ÿ

?ÿ

Hence the reason I came on here to ask if anyone was transferring with the rs232 or knew how to do it because the manual does NOT tell you.?ÿ?ÿ

?ÿ

The dataloader program gives you an XLS rather than GSI.?ÿ Then I have to MANUALLY enter in a TLV file for carlson.?ÿ While a GSI can just be imported.

Hey mate,

?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ ?ÿ?ÿ Have you tried accessing the level through active sync? I used to do it this way with some Topcon and Sokkia equipment back in the day. Or have you tried exporting the GSI or xls file directly onto a flash drive? Just a stab in the dark really, sometimes Leica equipment can be hard to get your head around, I used to use 1100 and 1200 jiggers in the past and they used to give me a headache until I started to understand their train of thought. ?ÿ

Carlson does communicate with a sprinter, I have both.?ÿ

You have to change the baud rate but I can't remember what, I think 1200. Heck, give them all a spin, one will work.
