Carlson acad problem, with COPY

IF I copy a group of stuff, points, lines etc, from one place on my screen, to another, the UNDERLYING coords are MOVING with it. Like the links are goofed, so that it takes the coord too. I want the SCREEN names, to copy, but not the coords to change in the coord file. They are changing.

I have somehow goofed this up, so that the way it is linked to the coord file, changes too.
