Hi Guys.
I am thinking about getting an add-on toolset to use with Civil 3D for my work, especially with point management, transformations, and report generation (transformation detail reports, point comparison Observed vs Datum with delta N/E and horizontal diff, point listings ect). So far I've filtered the candidates down to 2 possible programs. SincPac and DotSoft's Civil3D Tools. I am looking for some feedback from people who have actually used either or better yet both, as to which is the better buy. I want something that doesn't have a big learning curve and just speed up my workflow in general. Also if there is another software that you know of that is comparable, I'm open to suggestions.
It's been many moons ago but SincPac was pretty slick to use. I don't know anything about DotSoft.
This didn't generate much response. I've never used either, but I know there are people on this board who have used one or the other. I think these two programs each offer different routines (not really an overlap), so in the end I think it would be a matter of trying both out to see which might be more useful to you. They both offer free trials, so I would take advantage of that to give them each a test drive.
I would be interested in knowing if the OP has decided on one or the other, and their thoughts and experience with one or both.
We use sincpac and can't imagine not having it. It has a ton of features, we're still finding them after years of use. We do a lot of staking and it has many quality of life features for staking...among many other things. It's cheap and can pay for itself in 1 day of use. I don't know anything about Dotsoft. Nothing saying you can't use both,
SincPac by a mile!
