Hi,

I'm working on trying to figure out what is going on with this text issue with AutoCAD.?ÿ The other surveyor in our office has used Carlson since early 2000's.?ÿ He still uses this software to make his maps.?ÿ I have a newer version of AutoCAD and every time I load his drawings, or any DWG that originated from his computer - he has this specific title block text that blows up really big and looks completely different from when its on his computer.

I chalked it up to a different in font files on our computer but yesterday I heard another surveyor mention that his firm had a font style on their files that, when opened on another computer, would adjust title block font to be completely different and oversized so their files can't be forged.

I asked the surveyor about it and he says he has no idea where he got the font or how it works.?ÿ Does anyone have experience with this issue and how I could also import the text file to my computer so his maps and my maps look similar??ÿ They look slightly different now because I don't have the font he does and it's a very unique looking font.

Thanks!

I'm not a drafts person, so this is the minor amount I might be able to suggest.

?ÿ

Copy the font from his PC.?ÿ Search the C: drive for the font name.?ÿ Probably is in the Carlson/fonts directory.

Here is an autodesk help page for getting the font active on your PC.

A key item is to make sure that the font either goes into a directory you currently have ACAD looking to for fonts or that you set where ever you place the font as a path for ACAD to look.

At a guess, you could do that by creating a font of your own, with the same name but different to, one of the standard fonts.

Draws as expected on your machine, but open on another computer and you would see the 'usual' version of that font.

You would also need to ensure you don't include the font in the drawing file
