Forgive me if I spell his name wrong, but I heard that one of our Oklahoma Land Surveyors, Gary Rayner was killed yesterday while driving on a lease road and crossing train tracks. I'm sure it's an uncontrolled crossing and RIP. I had known Gary a long time, both during his ODOT days and his private days. I never worked with him but I always enjoyed our conversations at the conventions and he even took two of my classes at OSU/OKC.
RIP Gary
Just heard that a few minutes ago. Man, I don't know what to say. Gary Don was one fine surveyor. I worked with him at ODOT back in the day. He and I both left there for greener pastures.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm at a loss for words.
Must have been a dangerous crossing with terrible visibility or something. That is terrible news.

All too often it's not the visibility, it's the combination of driver haste and a lapse in judgment. The results of a collision are almost always tragic.

🙁 So very sorry to hear this. Don't like hearing when any of our guys are sick or pass on, for whatever the reason is. His friends, family, and loved ones have our deepest sympathies and condolences. :sun:
