Mark Paine called me last night to let me know that Kent had passed away suddenly the day before.
Kent was one of my mentors when I was interning at G&A Consultants in Lewisville, TX in 1996. He was a good surveyor and a good person and I am privileged to have worked with him.
I remember going to the field with Kent in the summer on a 104?ø day staking a parking lot with active construction equipment working around us. We were setting hubs and Kent made the mistake of putting a greenhorn college student on the gun. His heat tolerance was low that day and he kept yelling at me to take the damn shot.?ÿ
Deepest condolences to you and his other Colleagues, family and friends.
Kent Michael Mobley, 77, passed away in Lewisville, TX on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. The funeral is set for Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.
?ÿ
Kent was born on June 22, 1944 in Ft. Worth, TX to the late Thomas Pendleton and Lessa Inez (Robertson) Mobley Jr. He married Anita Cozby in Dallas, TX on April 8, 1967. Kent was a Registered Professional Land Surveyor for 41 years. He was Assistant Vice President of Credit at Republic National Bank in Dallas, TX for 13 years. Kent was a proud member of many organizations including Texas Surveyors Association, Boy Scouts, Rotary Club, and played trombone in the Breckenridge High School Stage Band.
When our mentors pass, it's like a piece of us is gone.?ÿ
Sorry for your loss.
Words of comfort:
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. [14] For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. [15] For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. [16] For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: [17] Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. [18] Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
