JB Was the first Surveyor to hire me, and gave me raises unsolicited for the work he was made aware of as I just did my daily work. I didn't ever report to him directly, but actually did as he often would call me into his office when I was asking questions around the office about things like the 3 photos of Lincoln, Grant and Lee, etc.
He was a truly interesting intellectual, and had a fairly wide scope in the Colorado Surveying scene.
