A couple of days ago I reported on using a County backhoe operator to excavate a road intersection to discover a sandstone that was over 30 inches below the surface.?ÿ The stone was put there in 1900.?ÿ The backhoe operator is now 73 years young and is nearing his 51st anniversary of working for the County.
It was about closing time later that day when I needed to chat with his boss on a different matter.?ÿ His boss told me that just a few minutes earlier when the whole crew was present to turn in their daily paper work ahead of clocking out the backhoe operator told the others about us finding the stone that was put there in 1900.?ÿ The first wag asked if he helped set it.?ÿ Another wanted to know if had put his initials on it in 1900.?ÿ Then the razzing escalated.
