Many of the place names that exist today were not derived by some Chamber of Commerce under the influence of a public relations and marketing consulting firm.
A clear example of this appeared on my television screen last night.?ÿ Potential tornadic activity was being shown for a portion of northeastern Oklahoma that could produce problems in the adjoining Missouri and Arkansas areas.?ÿ One place name jumped off the screen and caught my attention.
Greasy, Oklahoma was shown to be in a potentially hazardous area.
