Just make sure it is large enough to leave you a rough surface for traction once the ice and snow hits.

We??ll be putting down 3/4?- SWMBO drives an AWD forester with studs, and I drive my 4WD Ram with studs- getting out is never a problem- getting back in another story sometimes
