Supper this evening was some good BBQ ribs and fresh from the garden - corn on the cob (with lots of real butter & salt) and spaghetti squash. Throw in a splash of iced tea and it was a meal fit for a king!
Okay, now I've got to go clean up the grill. 🙂
That sounds great. I just had a 1 1/2" beef tenderloin steak cooked on the grill. I slit the center and added some jalapeño pepper seeds left over from last night. Then the crumbled blue cheese and a few chunks of green pepper.
The whorederves from last night were jalapeño peppers split down the middle with the seeds cleaned out and stuffed with the crumbled blue cheese and bacon bits.
Of course, yours sounds a bit better! The sun is going down at a decnet time and it no so blasted hot out....kinda makes for a good cookout.
Perhaps you meant hors d'oeuvres. Then, again, Archie Bunker offered his guest some horse ovaries.
hard to beat that!
😉
Butterflied and beer battered shrimp fresh from the St. Johns river (actually at the mouth of the Ortega river). They are running right now averaging 3 large coolers full a night for the last week ...mmm mmm good. Lots in the freezer. As soon as the finish running it'll be time to get back on the Red Fish. Me likey the fresh seafood.

Well, this is the time of year when the Hatch chiles begin showing up in the grocery stores in Austin. I pity the person who doesn't have access to roasted Hatch chiles.

I always thought a meal fit for a king would be a giant Turkey leg drumstick for one hand and a goblet of wine in the other...and maybe some grapes if he was a health nut...
Fresh Zucchini with Chicken Teriyaki!!
Well with Wendell down for the count with his rock I decided to make him a nice healthy meal. I used my fresh Zucchini from the garden, chopped it into cubes, sauteed it, and mixed it with Trader Joes Chicken & Teriyaki & spread it over a bed of rice and topped it off with almond slices. It was delicious and he managed to hold it down!! Here's a pic.

Last weekend I smoked two pork sholders, a brisket and a large castiron pot of smoked beans. Smells so good it'll make your tounge slap your brain silly
Fred Sanford calls them "horse divers", as do I 😉

I have them shipped direct. MMmMMMgood!
of all the things I miss about living in Las Cruces, Hatch chiles have to be in the top 3. If anyone has a shipping source let me know, I'd love to roast them here and share with my Floridian friends.
