Than a fresh & hot mess of fried chicken livers, is a cold chicken livers & mustard sandwich later that day.
🙂
you need to get out more.................
you could add mashed potato, gravy and mustard greens for a complete meal.
Eating liver is like eating a used oil filter. Not for me.
than fried chicken livers is almost anything that is not liver.
:good:
I love chicken gizzards and mustard.
LOL
The only thing better is anything else!
Not for me, liver in any shape or form is just not palatable, BUT I probably eat stuff you don't like so we are even!
In fact any "organ" foods are on my DO NOT eat list along with anything that could lick me! When I was a kid my folks raised a few beef, we ate every part OR I should say my mom cooked and served every part, I don't know that I gagged many hearts, tongues, livers, etc. down. I do remember her making a stuffed flank steak once that to this day is way high on the list of good eats. My MIL once was visiting and cooked brains and scrambled eggs, GROSS!
SHG
Not sure about the mustard, but I do like Gizzards.
You ever Eat Smoked Turkey Gizzard? I do every time I smoke a turkey.
The only thing better is anything else!
When I was a teenager the local cafe served scrambled eggs and calf brains.
Personally I would much rather have over medium and calf testicles.:-P
Love them mountain oysters.:-) Just like eating Chicken Fried Steak, only more tender.
:good:
I am with you about most Organ meat. I don't want liver, kidneys, brains, pancreas, etc.
Tongue and heart are just a couple of more muscles.:-)
Never liked that show.
In days of old when serfs slaved for the lords, the lords and ladies received all the truly edible portions of the beef, leaving the entrails, blood, organs and various extremities for the lowly serfs to take home to their families. My ancestors have struggled for centuries to become beefeaters. I'm not about to break that evolutionary progression.
