Friday dawned with a beautiful day and the sun was out but the wind was howling. A camp out this weekend in rural Rush Springs, Oklahoma. I packed up the bike with just the bare necessities and took off on the road. Tent, monkey pricks and some clothes.
Made it about a block and then went back and put on the leather jacket because of the high winds. Just brutal at 45 to 50 mph when rolling east or west. Texas was blowing again as usual.
The ride to Rush Springs was about 50 miles if you took the direct route. Well, it was sunny and a nice day so I took a more round about trip. A couple tanks of gas and about 250 miles. Not a bad ride. Got hungry and had a really nice hickory burger at one of the small towns. You can tell the good places to eat by the parking and not the buildings. We do have in common with Texas.
Wind was still howling so the flags were flying straight out. So I traversed (survey related) along my way and then found the site. Nice wall and it's a legend to some in the area. It was some sort of anniversary but can't remember how many.
I pulled behind the wall to find acres and acres of woods to camp and the center stage to meet up each day.
Trees trimmed, underbrush cut out and about 160 acres of camping. I pushed my way up into the trees and tried to find a place out of the wind. It was still whipping everywhere so the tent assembly was quite the ordeal. Had to pick up some logs to help hold down the thing while I put up the poles. Yes, I need two more people and six arms but I got it done.
I took the small tent this time. Usually I take the bigger one because I can pull the bike into it at night. I probably should have taken the bigger tent because the bike in the tent would have helped with the winds.
So I'm set up and head down to survey (Oops another surveyor term) the gathering place for each afternoon, evening, late night, early morning...Well, you get the picture.
One bike so far near the stage. A nice hard tail. Pole dance stage, band stage and a bar (just for the bathrooms you understand).
So at this point the camp is set up and I'm just chilling. A shot of hanging with a couple of friends.
I went over to the bar (just to use the restroom)..Seriously.. It was on the end of the building and obviously an add on as the ceiling was at a 45 degree angle (dang, another measurement survey thing). The sign was not to be ignored though. It was only about 5'0" in there. Maybe okay for some but I had to duck.
So I escaped without putting any knots on my head and decided to fraternize a bit with some of the others. I wound up with a friend for the evening. Krystal was such a darling and helped rub some skin lotion on my face because of the wind and sun burn that I got from the day's riding. I really like Rush Springs.
Dang. I had several survey things in this post but I'll leave it in this category.
PS- I have more pictures but pole dancing is not allowed on Beer Legs.
No offense Deral...I don't want to see any pictures of you pole dancing!!
Nice pics Deral, obviously you are having lot's of fun!
"PS- I have more pictures but pole dancing is not allowed on Beer Legs."
Yeah, but you can email them to us perverts!
Ps: Is it the bike or you that is a "chick magnet"? Just wondering 😉
That bathroom and me would not get along very well.
Lather up with the good sunscreen on those journeys brother.

Nice pics, nice tat....Easy riding.
That sun/wind burn looks way too familiar to me. The age on those bikers suggests I'll have to wait to get my first Social Security check before being eligible to join them. AARP membership probably isn't quite good enough. I wouldn't be allowed to go anyway unless I had a sidecar for Mrs. Cow.

But it IS allowed on Facebook!!!! 😛 ;-)
why am I not surprised that Angel would encourage the posting of the pole dance pics LOL
