Our pop up camper has an outside grill that runs off the propane tank. It has the quick connect line but I can't get gas through to the grill. I know it's getting to the hose, but once connected ... Nothing. Any chance I can fix this or do I need a new grill. This one is unused, so it would be a shame to not fix. Any thoughts?

I've seen water get in the line between the tank and the stove and block the flow of gas. Ours also has a shut-off inside the camper for the quick-connect line and another on the stove side of the connections. Good Luck

Unless there is a shutoff on the stove side of that quick coupler and it was turned off, you probably have one or more of the Florida creepy crawlers in the works. I would do nothing more than remove the hose and see if there is a blockage and clear it, then take it to a shop for further cleaning before putting pressure to it, very fine metering holes in that system and only a propane shop has the knowledge and tools to deal with one that is plugged or restricted.

I have no experience with them, but wonder if a new one might have a seal or plug in the line at some joint to keep it clean.

Jud,

That's what my brother said too, some kind of bug that likes to eat gas ?? or something like that. the stove in the camper works fine, so it's not critical for this weekend shakedown trip, but it will have to be fixed for the trip out west.

No gas eaters, but mud wasps that fill in the hose. Rinse with water to disolve the blockage.

Looks like it may be a check valve issue as well

You said outside grill. Is it not the same stove that is inside but just gets moved outside?

That's the way mine is anyway.

What brand/model do you have?

Can you hook up the inside stove to the outside to eliminate that possibility?

If you have a local propane company (you know, like the one Hank Hill works for - one that sells propane and propane accessories), take it all down to them and let them examine it. They will have handled problems like this before and will know what to look for or what to replace and will not spend your money trying to fix something that might not be broke. Gas is nothing to mess with - I've lost friends to two different gas explosions and don't need to lose anymore.
