For those of you who have rooted your nook color, I have a few quick questions.
1. If I prepare an sd card to run android, can I still use if for additional storage?
2. I must be able to dual boot. I like the stock nook functions for most of what I do, but would like the option ot read the kindle books on my nook. What is the best way to do this without having to remove the card when I don't want to run the android system?
I'm sure I will have a few more questions, but I'm thinking about rooting the nook, but only to be able to read the kindle books. The standard nook does what I need it to except for the kindle books.
Thanks in advance. I'll check back in the morning.

I haven't tried it, but I think that any RAM on the SD card not used by the OS is available.

The best way, in my opinion, is to install both the Kindle and Nook apps for Android (both are free). That way you can read Nook and Kindle books while running your rooted OS. (Note that you can only use 1 app at a time; it's not like you can alt-tab between a Nook book and a Kindle book the way you can in Windows.)
I'm currently reading a Nook book, but today I bought the 99-cent Kindle version of Longitude: The True Story of a Lone Genius Who Solved the Greatest Scientific Problem of His Time, and it opened just fine in the Kindle app.
I haven't found a need to boot into the native Nook OS since I rooted it.
Thanks for the information Jim.
I appreciate it. I may try it. I bought the same book from Amazon based on Daniel's recomendation. I installed the Kindle app on the laptop, and took a quick look at it.
The biggest thing I am concerned about is being able to maintain the original settings on the nook for warranty purposes and I do like that interface.
Thanks again for the information.
