I had a problem accepting that story about Santa coming down the chimney when I was a wee lad. Our chimney was your typical brick chimney that vented the 5 or 6 inch stove pipe that rose from the top of our big wood and coal burning stove in the middle of our living room. Even if Santa could somehow fit into the top of the chimney he still had to escape somehow from the metal stove pipe before dropping into the always-burning-on-Christmas-eve stove.
