Back in the olden days I went to junior high school with a guy named Gordy. His parents managed Blue Springs Park, it was a privately owned spring. It was there, long before any state regulations, that I had my first close up experience with these gentle giant manatees. You could snorkel all day with them and they were as interested in you as you them. Especially the babies. Those were the days!
Anyway here is a live cam link as well as some more info. The live cam is near the boil and they will swim by on occasion moving the Gar and Shad out of the way. The majority hang out further down the spring run closer to the St. Johns River.
Hope you like it! ?????ÿ
But it??s worse than Disney for crowds????

Does a large group of sea cows become a sea cowherd?

I bet they do.?ÿ Watch for bubbles when one has a guilty smile on its face.
2. MANATEES USE FARTS AS A SWIMMING TECHNIQUE.
The Bolson pupfish isn't the only animal that needs healthy farts to maneuver underwater. Buoyancy is vital for swimming manatees, and they rely on digestive gas to keep them afloat. The West Indian manatee has pouches in its intestines where it can store farty gasses. When they have a lot of gas stored up, they??re naturally more buoyant, floating to the surface of the water. When they fart out that gas, they sink. Unfortunately, that means that a manatee??s ability to fart is vital to its well-being. When a manatee is constipated and can??t pass gas properly, it can lose the ability to swim properly and end up floating around with its tail above its head.
This site is always full of great educational opportunites.?ÿ Most are survey-related and others are just fun trivia.?ÿ A little sugar to sprinkle on your breakfast cereal.
