Read a message on Facebook from one of my wife's friends.  She reported her husband bought her some new socks and swatted her butt as he walked by.  She was quite happy with that.

I bought a cheap little package of white chocolate-coated mini-pretzels that were heart-shaped and gave them to my wife.  She protested because we had agreed we wouldn't get anything for each other.  When I agreed to eat half the pretzels, she was content.

I told my wife "Roses are red, grass is green.  I love your hair, your nose and your spleen."

Dave, it is just another Hallmark Holiday. At least that is what my lovely wife tells me.

My youngest daughter and her husband agreed not to do anything for Valentines Day.  They could do anything and they chose to simply go on leading their very content life.

The following day they could have joined the mass insanity known as the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Parade and Celebration along with a half million others.  This might have been 10 miles away from their home or about two blocks from her downtown KCMO office. They were smart enough to stay home and watch it all on TV.  When the KC Royals won the World Series they had attened a similar event.  That convinced them to NEVER do something like that again.  Far too many people for far too long with far too few porta-potties available.

FYI, Travis Kelce's brother, Jason, who plays for the Philadelphia Eagles has a special charity, Be Philly Foundation.  KC Chiefs fans have made donations totaling to more than $110,000 since Monday of this week.  A typical donation is $14.90 which is the sum of the brother's jersey numbers (87 & 62) with a decimal added to make a donation size that anyone could make.  There was only about $10,000 on hand for the Foundation to use prior to this massive collection of donations.

Edit: Friday morning.  The KC donations to Be Philly have shot past $142,000.

That's happening right now in Central FL. Speedweeks is now with the Daytona 500 wrapping things up this Sunday. Daytona cannot handle traffic at all and on Sunday if you are less than 5 or 6 miles away from the track it would be faster to walk. Although there are a few 3 star and up hotels in Daytona about half of the 500,000+/- stay in the Orlando area because of the attrctions. This means I-4 from Orlando to Daytona is like driving school for the blind. The good part is nobody gets hurt because nobody and go faster than 5 mph anyway. So after attending many 500's live I gave up. Crowds of morons without a clue mostly overfueled by "Busch" that stand up during the entire race. Plus $9 for a 16oz Busch or Busch lite and your own private  demolition derby an the conclusion of the race while trying to escape the "parking lot".

That's why it's much more better to watch on tv, plus they show the wrecks reruns about 50 times, no lines at the unirals or beer concessions, Winn-Dixie priced beer and snacks.
