That story is almost as old as the one in The Grapes of Wrath.?ÿ Young Mr. Joad had been tasked with taking their heifer over to the neighbor's place to get bred by their bull.?ÿ The neighbor's daughter was home so came out to chat with the neighbor boy.?ÿ As the bull and the heifer proceeded to let nature take its course,?ÿ Young Mr. Joad said, "I wish I was doing that."?ÿ The girl replied, "Go ahead.?ÿ She's your heifer."

That is the story as I remember it from 50 plus years ago when my high school English teacher thought every student should read that book.
