I saw this floating around Facebook and thought it was funny. I realize Facebook is not a reliable source for quotes, and I have no idea if Winston Churchill ever said it. If he didn't, someone should have.
He said it. I was seated next to him and the Queen of England the very first time he ever said it.
True quote from Winston Churchill.
A woman (an American, I think) told him: "If you were my husband I would poison you."
Churchill: "Madam, if I were your husband I would drink it."
Winston Churchill and rural central Missouri
One would not normally link Winston Churchill and a little college town in central Missouri. There is, however, a very strong connection. In 1946, Churchill gave a speech at a small liberal arts college, Westminster College, in Fulton, MO. In that speech he first used the term "Iron Curtain".
Today, Fulton and Westminster College have created numerous links to Churchill and his family including a museum and an entire church that they had moved, stone by stone, from England to Fulton. Google them to learn more about this odd connection.

Churchill's mother was Jennie Jerome, born in Brooklyn.
Jerome Avenue in the Bronx is named for her father, who built a racetrack there.
I probably first saw it on this forum, but it's one of my favorites:
"The difficulty with quotes found on the Internet is verifying their accuracy." ~Abraham Lincoln
The woman in question was actually British (Nancy Astor.) And she wanted to poison his tea. Her middle name was Witcher.
