Just recently started working at new company. They have a Trimble 5600 with auto-track. They have two carbon fiber rods with interior batteries. These rods no longer work from the internal batteries. Apparently both rods have been dropped and can no longer work with the interior batteries. Can they be fixed with little effort? I have not yet tried to take apart and repair. Thought I would ask before digging in.

It was written not to long ago on this board "If it was made by man, it can be fixed by man." So, dig in. What do you have to loose, a couple of non working rods?

If they are the Trimble brand poles then yes they can be fixed, the internal battery can be unscrewed and replaced as a unit.
