Some of y'all have probably seen this but here goes anyway.
(stolen off the web)

When someone asks you a dumb question wouldn't you like to respond like this?.....

Yesterday I was buying a large bag of Purina dog chow for Athena the wonder dog at Wal-Mart and was about to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog. What did she think I had, an elephant? So since I'm retired, with little to do, on impulse, I told her that no, I didn't have a dog, and that I was starting the Purina Diet again.

Although I probably shouldn't, because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care ward with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IVs in both arms.

I told her that it was essentially a perfect diet and that the way that it works is to load your pants pockets with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry and that the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again. (I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story.)

Horrified , she asked if I ended up in intensive care because the dog food poisoned me. I told her no; I stepped off a curb to sniff a Poodle's ass and a car hit us both.

I thought the guy behind her was going to have a heart attack, he was laughing so hard!

WAL-MART won't let me shop there anymore.

Y'all have a great weekend! B-)

Have you considered that she asked the question, just to be nice, or as a way of asking what kind of dog you had.

Maybe she buys dog food for her neighbor(as I've done) and thought you might be doing the same.

Or maybe, she's just a nice lady who wanted to brighten up your day with idle conversation.

In any case, I hope all the laughter in line wasn't at her expense.

Maybe you should just told her that her question was really S-T-U-P-I-D, and that you'd now like to repay her kindness with ridicule.

Maybe you struck her as a person who shouldn't have a dog and really hoped you were on a dog-food diet?

. . . have a nice day . . .

Dear Retired69

If, in your post, you are insinuating I lack compassion for my fellow man it’s actually the exact opposite. Thankfully at an early age I learned that having a sense of humor alleviates everyday stress. Whether someone likes or dislikes my attitude or persona makes no difference to me. Those without a sense of humor, to be sure, don’t know what they are missing.

Have a great weekend! B-)

The first book (I can remember) reading was "1001 Snappy Answers To Stupid Questions" by MADD Magazine.....It had prepared responses to those stupid questions so you could have a quick come-back at a moments notice........as a kid I got into a lot of trouble because of that book....but it was fun.

Remember there are is NO SUCH THING as a stupid question......just STUPID PEOPLE asking questions!!!!:-@
