We recently were on a cruise from San Diego to the Hawaiian islands and was interesting when the Captain came on the intercom and announced that we were on a Rhumb line course of N. 74 degrees E, to get back to San Diego. I was impressed that even the Captain knew about curved lines!!

Thought so. That's the only cruise line SWMBO will go on! Been all over Caribbean, really want to go on their South American cruise.

Cruising on the Rum Line

> ... when the Captain came on the intercom and announced that we were on a Rhumb line course of N. 74 degrees E, to get back to San Diego.

So, when the Rum line formed, was there a stampede straight for the bar or was it more following a curve around the promenade deck?

It is the third cruise that we have been on with Holland-America and like it.

I don't think I would do another cruise like this one though, 10 days on the ocean and 4 days at 4 islands.

Going was fun and looking forward to everything, but coming home was boring.

Of course they fed us very well!!
