?ÿDoes anyone play here?
I started in HS as fodder for the?ÿ the chess team during study periods.
Years?ÿ later came back to to the game as a recreational activity. Played on/off for years with friends also in parks, coffee houses, bars. I played in Washington Square in Greenwich Village.?ÿ I also played Go for a few years.?ÿ I played at the GO S?ÿ ociety in NYC.
I like that one can get lost in a match.?ÿ
Recently had a strange match online at chess.com while playing 10 minute 'live' match. I wondered about the math probability of the outcome but I haven't a clue to solve.
?ÿ
In a?ÿ 10 minute live match. I was white. I mated in 13 moves in a time of 3:30 seconds.?ÿ The strange thing was that my opponent and myself did not capture any pieces.?ÿ
?ÿ
Experimented with it while I was in college. (while others experimented with other stuff)
Attained a fairly good talent. ?ÿTaught my kids the basics years later. ?ÿNow, I'm back to the horsey guy and circle top level again.
I play chess against the computer. I can eliminate the computers queen and rooks and still manage to lose. I like more strategic games like Candyland or Chutes and ladders.
I've played a lot of chess.?ÿ?ÿ My dad taught me at an early age, and I continued through college, even winning the competition at Alabama one year.?ÿ A friend of SWMBO, Julia from South Africa, and I play occasionally,?ÿ?ÿ She's winning 7-4, so far :-)?ÿ I like a good game.
13 moves to checkmate without taking or losing any pieces, that's pretty good!
I've?ÿ playing for decades on/off and never experienced this happening.
Besides Fool's Mate.
Playing at chess.com with players from various countries from?ÿ?ÿA to Z which have included players from RSA.
This game was against a Brit. I have little experience in speed or 10 minute games so I am fairly mediocre or less.

You must have had an odd opening!?ÿ What's that passed pawn at A5 doing out there already??ÿ 🙂

Black was aggressive with pawns. Didn't catch the en passant. I don't know why Black slid the rook before mate.1.e4 e5
