Just got a new pair of Rocky Boots. They are pretty nice...same model I bought last time and they actually lasted longer than 12 months which I consider good. I paid just under $100 for them.

I also just ordered a pair of composite toe wellingtons by Caterpillar. I figured with all the construction site stuff I do I really should be in compliance with the reinforced toe, but I just always hated steel toes. Has anyone tried these composite toes?

This is also the first pair of wellingtons that I will be using for work. I was a little concerned about support without laces, but I had a pair of cheap McRae wellingtons just for wearing around that were pretty decent.

I have been wearing the composite toe Ariat boots with the waterproof liner for several years now. On my second or third pair, don't remember. The boots will get wet but your feet do not. I always hated the steel toe boots. I don't even notice these.

Rocky Boots are very comfortable and their Original Roper and Bronson Roper have been my choice with one pair each in the last 8yrs. Both look the same, the Bronson has an upper inside tanned leather liner.

I also wear LeGrange rubber boots much of the time to wade thru muck and water to keep my leather ones lasting longer.

Worst smelling boots I ever had were Danners' with the waterproof liner.
Couldn't stand the smell of my own feet!!

I have a pair of Keen Detroit 8" with a composite toe. They definitely don't get cold like the steel toe variants tend to. I don't really even notice that there is a protective device there...
