Went out this morning while it was cool, and picked the blackberries right out of the back yard thicket. Rounded up a recipe off the internet (none of the local cookbooks had a recipe! Most of the local ladies must consider this a family secret!) and am now waiting the 45 minutes for the baking. Plan on taking it to a family party this evening.
Temperatures are very pleasant this morning, and we are having a mild fourth weekend for once.
Parties and fireworks tomorrow night, and I'm off Monday. Great weekend!:party:
