I can't imagine how that could work. Chain saws demand a lot of energy.

I looked at them a few years ago and thought that they were reasonably priced until I figured out that the battery and charger were extra. Anyway I talked with a guy that had one and he really liked it. I am sure it would be good for short bursts of use. No gas to mess with, pretty clean and easy to store in the truck for light cutting. Of course you do have to remember to charge the batteries before taking it out to use.

I have one of the Craftsman C3 19.2V chainsaws and I like it. I have been told it's the same chainsaw as one of the Ryobi saws. My primary purpose for buying it was for cutting/trimming limbs while up in the tree. I use a real chainsaw after I get back on the ground. It can be used one handed real easy. The battery doesn't last long but I bought a Lithium battery for it yesterday. They are supposed to last longer.

The only thing I don't like about it is the constant leaking of oil from the chain oiler. I haven't found a case for it yet. The case would keep the oil contained when stored.

I liked it so well I bought another just like it for my wife for christmas 🙂

When will they ever learn,
When will they ever learn.

I hope you have a comfy couch James. 🙂

What do women want?

Once I bought my wife a wheel barrow for Mother's Day. She's an avid gardner and really loved it. Go figure.

That's funny. My wife's an avid Gardner too. Ha. I'm getting my wife new hubcaps for Xmas. She lost one about a year and a half ago and I can't find one like it anywhere, so big spender me is springing for a whole set. I thought about just buying two so at least one side would match and you don't look at both sides of the car at the same time. Logical as it might be, that idea didn't fly.

It may be a regional thing, but I have bought my wife a chain saw for christmas as well as numerous other work items and my wife loved them. Not every woman is a girly girl. 🙂

That is a good way to keep them out of your shop, but you better not use hers because it is handier at the moment. A 4 wheel medium size American Flyer also makes for a good gift for a woman who gardens.

I have a Craftsman battery powered hedge trimmer saw thing. It's OK for small jobs but it runs out of juice in a half hour or so and when it starts to run out I can tell because the saw starts to get tangled up with twigs and leaves.

You guys are right. Us women that love to garden are thrilled to get accessories to help us. Wendell got me a pitchfork one year for my birthday. I use to use a wagon to haul my stuff around when we lived in Arizona. I didn't need much there cause our lawn was rocks, cacti, and other assorted desert plants. Here in Oregon, I found I needed many more "lawn toys" and so I got me one of those red grocery carrying carts to haul them all around in. Works great!! 🙂

can we have a photo of you and Wendell side by side with one of you holding the pitch fork between you (vertically with the handle down).

Thanks.

I thought about it, if Wendell has a prism pole and prism or GPS rover on pole, use that instead 🙂

Yea he has some toys out there that we could probably use for a photo session. It's talking HIM into it that may be hard to do. 🙂

Deral,

If you insist, I will tell the rest of the story.

I asked her what she wanted for christmas and it just happened that earlier in the day she had a 10 mile detour on her mail route because a tree had fell across a county road. She has about 50 miles of dirt road every day so it's not that unusual. The tree was about 8" dia but fell between two trees on the other side of the road. She usually hooks a chain on and drags them over enough to get around and then calls the County Commissioner when she gets back in cell service. That didn't work this time.

She wants a saw she can keep in her truck. It uses the same battery as the 1/2" impact wrench I bought her last Christmas for changing flats. I just figure I'm the luckiest man in East Texas.

After buying an iPhone, an iPad and an Ipod, I thought I should get my wife a new iRon. I'll let you know if she uses it (on me).

Dave,

I had to read that twice before I figured out what an "i-Ron" was.
