Greetings all. Old surveyor (aren't most of us?) here with something I have not seen before in the last 40 years of surveying. Legal description has a distance of 6.97 3/4 Chains and 7.71/4/100 Chains. What the Hell does that mean? I thought I knew all the various ways attorneys had of torturing the verbage and dimensions in a legal description, but today I am proved wrong.?ÿ
Anybody got any ideas?
6.97 3/4 Chains ?ÿ ?ÿ 7.71/4/100 Chains
I'm going to guess 6 chains, 97.75 links and 7 chains 71.04 links.
6 chains and 97.75 links and 7 chains and 71.04 links?
I've run into similar descriptions a few times. Running the title back always gave us a more conventional call. My guess is that some brilliant attorney applied his mathematical acumen and revised the description for the good of mankind.
